Questions? (800) 331-2303

By Blanche D Grube, DMD

I am going to answer this question by first telling you my personal story, then you, will quickly see the answer to the question. My story began in March of 2020, when I was playing golf in Hilton Head, South Carolina. It was my first game of the season. My excitement at getting to the first tee, fogged up my clear thinking and I neglected to spray myself with my usual essential oil spray, that keeps the bugs from taking a taste of me while playing.

By the time I had reached the 4th hole, I already had a head full of bites, which did not concern me at that time, because I had gotten bitten many times before and had only suffered the usual itching, swelling, and redness. Four days later, I could not lift my right leg up, to get into bed that night. I made no connection between the bites on my head and neck, and the sudden muscle stiffness.

Thinking I had a hip-joint, or spinal problem, I went to the chiropractor. He noticed the bullseye lesion on the back of my neck, but still thought my problem was structural. I received an adjustment and was sent home with some homeopathic remedies. Within a months’ time, the muscle pain and inability to move freely had extended to both legs, my arms and my neck. A naturopath told me that because I spent time on the golf course, I probably was suffering from an overload of pesticide spray and that I needed to take several herbs to cleanse and detox [1].

A second naturopath told me that my lymphatics were clogged and that I simply needed to take some drainage remedies and use this machine that squeezed my legs and arm, which I did and boy, did that hurt!By the time the month of May rolled around, I could barely function. I really thought this was the end for me, when the lab director of DNA ConneXions suggested that I take a urine test to see if I had Lyme disease [2]. Now THAT, was a really good idea and since I owned the company, you would think I would have thought of that sooner. Oh, did I mention that my critical thinking had been affected and that my eyesight had also been impacted?

When my results came back, I could see that I was loaded with Borrelia Burgdorferi.  I immediately called a medical doctor who put me on a series of antibiotics. The antibiotics helped a little bit, but still no cure. Then I discovered Dr. Bill Rawls, a medical doctor, who also had Lyme disease, and like me, was not completely cured with antibiotics. He recommended a collection of herbs that were antiparasitic. Taking the herbs also helped, but again, no miracle cure. Still looking for a solution, I went to a colon hydro-therapist who had developed a very specific technique for those who have Lyme disease. Now, I was making progress and feeling better every day.

Finally, I connected with Dr. Joel Wallach, of the Youngevity Supplement company, and told him that I had received the test back from DNA ConneXions showing, I was loaded with Borrelia Burgdorferi [4]. He recommended a selection of herbs that were also antiparasitic, but these herbs made me sleep through the night. This is when the real healing took place. My mentor, Dr Hal Huggins would always say, “Healing only takes place in the horizontal position.”

I could say that the last group of herbs were the miracle cure, but the truth is, I went through many different steps before my body could effectively eliminate the symptoms that I was experiencing. It would have helped me tremendously if I were able to attain the correct diagnosis in the beginning. It not only cost me time, money and loss of function, but it severely affected my trust in the whole way that doctors are trained to attain a diagnosis.

As a doctor myself, I know that it is very easy to jump to conclusions, when giving a patient a diagnosis. All of the modalities that were recommended to me, do have their place and can be very effective when combatting what they were specifically designed to combat. My takeaway, is that it is so much better for all concerned, to do the proper testing right at the beginning and then decide what the treatment plan should be.

Disclaimer:
A positive PCR result from the DNA ConneXions Lyme Disease Test Panel indicates the presence of DNA from B. burgdorferi and/or other co-infectors. A negative result does not prove a patient is not infected with a tick-borne infection, rather it indicates the absence of detectable Lyme and/or other tick-borne co-infections. A patient’s ability to fight the disease, stage of infection, and timing of courses of antibiotics are only some of the factors that may affect the detectability of the spirochetes DNA.
